About Us

We match high school students with college student mentors for post-secondary planning

Modern day college counseling is broken. 75% of college applicants apply alone each year because of our broken system. College counselors are overwhelmed in schools, having to manage 400 students to every 1 counselor. Private college counselors cost $300 per hour on average.

We built a new model to help students navigate their post-secondary journeys. We match high school students to current undergraduates who are trained, vetted and onboarded in our proprietary counseling course.

How We Help

Focusing on the student experience

One of the biggest complaints we hear from parents and students about traditional college counseling is the lack of attention on the student themselves. Many struggle with deciding the best college for them, which trickles down into stress surrounding career paths and what activities & classes they need to complete in high school to get them there.

We focus on the entire student journey - starting in high school all the way through college. We help students plan their high school course load, pick and stay in extracurricular activities that they are passionate about, brainstorm and craft admissions essays that actually tell their story, and prepare an admissions game-plan for when and where we will submit applications.

Benefits of Near Peer

Build self-efficacy, confidence, and relationships beyond the acceptance letter

It is no secret that Generation Z relates more closely with other Gen Z students. Our model works not only to help students prepare for college applications, but also continues after their acceptance letter. Students get to meet with undergraduates at their favorite univerisites, who are studying majors they are interested in exploring.

Many students who have worked with us stay in college longer, are more in-tune with life on campus before arriving, and have built in friends before moving into their dorm room. We help students make critical decisions when they are between major and university options.

Reviews

Loved working with these counselors!! My counselor was so helpful and even if you don’t know where to start AT ALL by the end of the zoom call she helped you narrow down a list of topics you want to write about. She helped turn my bland essay into something more creative which was just the thing my essay needed! So sweet and so helpful with feedback and how to edit and make your essays better.
